After completing the Virtual Product Models and Simulation course, the student will:

  • Describe the physical and mathematical model fundamentals of simulation tools
  • Explain the advantages and disadvantages of simulation tools in product development and assess limitations of the different methods
  • Present methodological approaches to the use of CAE tools in product development
  • Plan the use of CAE tools in the product development process based on process requirements
  • Create basic kinematics analyzes using MKS software
  • Perform structural analysis using FEA software
  • Analyze fluid mechanical problems using CFD software
  • Describe the interaction between simulation and experiment, taking into account the respective framework conditions
